Still Hooking...

I design and made these two hats a month or so ago.
This is the first version of this hat design. I took the strap design from the tote below and added it to this swirl stitch hat pattern I already had. I like  where the swirl stitch meets the strap or faux cuff..... seamless.

Second version in petal pink. The strap is added as a accent and is not crucial in making the body of the hat as is the case with the brown version.
Where I am at the moment. I'd like to add beads and if I can manage a piece of tatting that will appear in the next pictures. I am excited that I have been able to still crochet!

I plan on adding beads/shells to the Cafe Latte colored tote bag. I am in the midst of writing this post down.

TATBiT's Picnic Tote in Petal Pink

This petal pink version using Red Heart Super Saver brand yarn. I changed the pattern from the Cafe Latte colored tote.
This version has a decorative lip where the front side folds over to the inside of the bag. Highly Textured crochet.
This tote has the crochet mesh start on the outer last round of the spiral crochet stitch combination. A slightly different look and effect.
The bottom of the tote.  The vinegar jug can not really be seen. Fully lined with crochet.

TATBiT's Picnic Tote

Red Heart Super Saver in Cafe Late using a size 6 hook.
 Spiral Crochet Pattern.
I like the hat pattern even better.
Save the liver! A clean vinegar bottle with the funnel cut off for bag liner.
Inside of bad is a dense crochet overlap stitch design.
Still need to crochet a few rounds to finish the liner. Still need to crochet the bottom of the liner and the cover. I am thinking about putting some beach bag or market bag mesh on the bag with handles.

Still thinking about the yo-yo blanket. I am not happy with how the joins look on the yo-yo. With hats and bags I can cover up what I do not like. Blanket is different so I am still contemplating that design. Yes, I think too much!

Back To Crochet...

I have been so sick since the new year (and before) that I have done next to nothing but lay about and try to recover my health.  Just in the past two weeks have I even felt like doing anything but wonder if my time was up. I am alive and crochet makes me happy! I saw a meme the other day that said "I crochet so I do not kill people!" Ha! I had a good laugh over that.
I designed this so many years ago I do not even remember working on it. 1987 is the year it was published so it might have been 1986 when I designed it. This is the perfect design for cotton thread in a size 3 or 5 if you can find it. Makes a decent sized "beach" bag.  Can you still find this pattern? That is the question.
Last time this pattern was published was in the above book. Sometimes, the original book is offered. This book also has my "Butterfly Shawl" and a "Pineapple Snood" designs included. I do not make any money from the sale of any of my crochet designs patterns featured.
I used Red Heart SS and I got a huge (HUGE) beach bag or yarn bag as I am using it now. Made from yarn, makes a large enough bag to hold beach blankets and whatever else one needs at the beach. I did struggle a bit hooking this pattern as I write patterns in a different style now. The handles were what got me stymied until the last handle which I got correct.
I have always loved pineapple crochet! I am very happy with the results with the yarn and I think I might make a couple more for "earthquake bug-out bags". Just enough stuff in one bag if we have to leave the house quickly.
Yo-Yo Crochet! I have always wanted a yo-yo quilt. I have seen crochet yo-yos and so I thought I would try to design a blanket.... here is where I am at.
